This transparent, rigid tubing has a 3/4" inside diameter, a 1/8" wall thickness, and is suitable for applications subject to high impact or repeated use. It is made of polycarbonate, which is easily worked, resists grease, oil, detergent, and most inorganic acids, and has a very high impact resistance at nearly 30 times that of safety glass. It has high elasticity for resistance to creep. It has an operating temperature range of -275 to +250 degrees F and a Rockwell Hardness rating of R 73-78.Plastic tubing is used to transfer liquids, air, or solids, and it is characterized by a round, rectangular, or square shape and a hollow center. I'm another buyer intent on making a lightsaber. I ordered the 72" long 3/4"ID x 1"OD x 1/8" wall. Feels sturdy. I was nervous about shipping, after reading reviews. It came in a sturdy cardboard tube (about 3" diameter) marked Fragile. Inside that, the tube was in a plastic bag. The tube itself has no sticker, no significant marks -- it's clear, uniform, and straight. Note about photo: the bright area of the tube is not due to a problem on the tube itself, it's just the reflection from the nearby lighting. I couldn't expect better unless it was hand carried from the factory to my door itself, and it's definitely good enough to be displayed, used, or banged around in an attempt to swing the balance to your side in the cosmic battle of good vs. evil. If it lets me down, structurally, in that last regard, I will come back as a translucent ghost and update my review.
