I got this to hide valuables from roommates because our place is tiny and we don't have much privacy.Good points:It is huge for a diversion safe and the light works.The only problem I have is You can see the shadow of the stuff inside if you look at the back.This would not be a problem if you can mount it with the screws but I am in a college dorm, only poster-tac ( stuff that looks like silly puddy but is only just sticky enough to hold up unframed posters) is allowed on the walls.So, I plan to hot glue industry strength magnets to the back and put it on the fridge .Again,this would typically be fine as I doubt most guests would fiddle with something in your home.My twin sister has very high functioning autism, though and always needs to be fidgeting with something in her hands.Ergo, If I don't line it she will be drawn to it out of curiosity and may even get it open in front of roommates.Sorry for the tangent. My point is if you have curious little hands living with you I would put it high. If you are hiding something from roommates who will see it often I would line it with, say, white card stock.Another slight problem: there's no mock battery door on the bottom of the safe. If anyone looks closely, they might wonder where the batteries go.Lastly, there are 4 holes on the back. I think for the included screws,but they give a tiny but clear view of the content of the safe.My sister is coming to visit soon and I will update this as to whether I was able to make it look normal enough that she didn't touch it.I would have given this a 5 if it had instructions on how to remove the cover... took forever as it's a bear to remove. I had to search the reviews to see what others wrote on how to remove. it needs to be twisted counter clockwise. If you get one and have a hard time.. keep at it. TIP: If you have someone hold it as if it was mounted on the ceiling and then twist counter clockwise, it opens much easier. I was originally going to return because of how hard it was to open just sitting on my lap.. i could imagine mounting it and trying to open.. I had my wife hold it up and surprisingly enough it's easier to open facing down. Good product, with lots of space inside. Hopefully company sees this and adds a .3 cent instruction to turn counter clockwise to open.I should have taken a picture of mine at night prior to me fixing the issue. So Ya the light looks an work's great. Little bit thick but unless someone else is also into secret safes/stash products, no one ever think it's was. EXCEPT!!! at night. Holy cow. The plastic framework mise as will be clear if the light is turned on! It transfers the light threw so bad even a blind person would see your stash. Then there is the issue of closing it. Its not very simple so I wouldn't use it a frequented stash. All in all they need to fix the transparency issue (cost me a dollar an 10 min. But keeping how a secret) but I'm looking to buy few more just may try diff brandIt's OK. Only 2 of the 6 LED lights work and it glows light into the secret storage area; so anything that is in there, it's lit up for all to see. I will probably still use it for the area I need a light but won't use it as a secret storage - or maybe alter the unit so that the items aren't revealed.This is a lot larger than I imagined. The depth makes it a bit conspicuous compared to other push on lights. However, with the correct placement it's a nice hiding spot for stuff. I wouldn't put a lot of money or expensive items in it. Just a few back ups like spare keys, etc.It would get a five star rating from me but its so damn hard to actually close it back up when you are done hiding watever it is your hiding other than that it works great and it is really bright lights up a closet really wellSome of the bulbs went out in about 2 weeks of having it.This must be a joke. Product is garbage. First off, for the price, it's made very cheaply. It's about 5 times thicker than the normal sized products it imitates and the whole thing, including the "hidden" compartment lights up like a redlight district shadow puppet display. You shouldn't buy this, I'd return it but I threw out the box and it's not worth the trouble to me.
